Here’s a pink version of our quilt in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Survivor
The reason we made this design:
Both of us have stood by while close friends and family have fought and sometimes won their struggles against cancer. We prayed, we comforted, and we felt helpless, wanting to wrap them up in our love and support and be there at any time we could. We watched appetites fade, weariness set in, and a constant feeling of cold take hold…and still they fought on.
Our hidden meaning:
The Survivor quilt is to provide warmth and a virtual hug whenever needed. The corner framing signifies the inner person and struggle. The smaller, open frame is the body’s fight (larger lines working to eradicate the small diseased lines). You may notice the inner frame is not centered as the fight is constantly shifting until it is won. Finally, the center of the quilt spells out SURVIVOR in Morse code to reaffirm the fight being waged.
Our design was made with love and prayers for all those struggling. We would encourage you to add your prayers for the health and strength of your intended recipient.
